Pests: A Risk to Your Health

Many people are aware that pests can cause damage to their homes and belongings, but were you aware that pests can take great tolls on your health? From rodents to flying parasites, they all can damage your immune system and carry on viruses to anyone who enters your home. Removal and prevention are the ways in which we can effectively remove all pest-carried threats to your health.

Cockroaches are nobody’s best friend. However, if you are affected by asthma then they could be triggering your attacks. Studies have shown that cockroach debris such as shells, saliva, body parts, and droppings can cause asthma attacks in individuals sensitized to cockroach antigens. These airborne concentrations of the allergen will continue to increase as they are compounded with other antigens coming from dust mites, mold, and other common household mishaps. Also, avoid large pools of water where mosquitoes breed can decrease your risk of the pest-borne illnesses.

Rodent bites are never pleasant, but beyond the pain can lay a deadlier infection. They also have the tendency to bring in motes or fleas which further the spread of disease in your home. Some mice that can enter your home carry and cause Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome. They also notoriously enter food supplies and can contaminate all foods you consume with viruses they carry. Traps being set and regular inspections can prevent these pests from harming you or your loved ones.
